Who is Dudley Daniels?

Dudley Daniels is a very hard character to get any information on. I have surfed the web and can’t find any images of him or sermons by him.
Has anyone got any info about him? I would be very interested to know what the founder of NCMI is like and what his teachings are.

  1. Hey, how’s it going… I just read your blog. Please understand that what I am saying here is in brotherly love and not anger. I’ve been involved in 3 different NCMI relating churches since 2000. I noticed that your analysis of the churches and the team is a whole lot more complex than reality. The reality is that each of these churches are unique churches who have relationship with the team by invite only and are merely trying to stick as close to the word of God as possible. I also personally know a number of the guys on team and they are the same way. What is embarrassing however, is that you are displaying your version and opinion of the churches dirty laundry to the whole world via the internet. The biblical way of doing this would be to deal with Jesus Christ’s church personally, by working it out with the people whom you have issues with. This would be according the the teachings of Jesus in Matthew chapter 18:15… As it is, you are dishonoring the Lord publically. It’s not so much the churches and the team as it is Jesus Christ and our heavenly Father whom we need to make sure we honor before the world’s eyes. But, when you dishonor the church, the body of Christ, you also dishonor Jesus. Please email me back in response to this. Love, in Christ, Andrew

  2. Hi Andrew,

I think that I have said this here before, but if not I am going to now. I understand that all churches that fall under the NCMI banner are not bad. I am not downing all the churches that relate, but I am offering an opposing view to the NCMI movement as a whole. This is not unhealthy. Most denominations have opposition to them on the internet and when someone is looking for a church they will take this all into account when making their final choice. Up until recently there has been very little information available regarding NCMI, but it has been said that they are among the top three largest Charismatic churches in South Africa. I believe that the problems of the church must be presented.
I have also been in dialog with NCMI churches regarding my objection. I used to attend an NCMI church and have been in contact with many here in South Africa, and also have sent emails to some of the Apostolic Leaders in Australia. All of this has fallen on dead ears
For Matthew chapter 18:15 to apply to what I am doing it has to be proven that NCMI as a movement is still in orthodoxy and is still in fact part of the body of Christ. If they are, as I believe, become an aberrant church movement then I think I am doing nothing more that practicing Apologetics against a movement that I believe to be in error. This would be the same as if I had a blog dedicated to combating the Jehovah’s Witness. It is also interesting to note that NCMI leaders are always fast to tell people in public meeting how the Methodists, Anglicans etc. have all fallen into error because the have forgotten the Holy Spirit, or even in some cases blasphemed the HS. Is this not the same as what I am doing?

    In Christ

  3. I believe it is important to look at errors. Errors within certain churches can do a lot of damage. It is not the people or the church of Jesus Christ that is under attack, it is the false teaching that should be tested and looked at in a negative view. I have come out of the Ncmi church and thankfully I came out a christian but some come out badly damaged and permanently scarred because of spiritual abuse. It is sad because it is hurting the people who honestly love Jesus.

  4. Hi

I went to a realting church in UK and am looking to join a church in SA. I dont feel comfortabel with the principle of apolostle and the almost commercial structured approach as I experienced in UK. who knows of a alternative church near fourways in JHB?

    Thanks

  5. getting there/grant

You are in CT, you can try http://www.gracefellowship.co.za/ they have a church in CT (not sure where). I am not promoting John Mac Author but he is pretty good on most things and this is one of his churches. I have received an email from someone in CT looking for a decent church to go to and informed me that this was the best he had found so far.

If you are in JHB you can try moriel ministries (set up by Jacob Prasch) – one in springs and waverly (jhb). http://www.moriel.org

Then you can maybe try Honeyridge Baptist Church http://www.honeyridge.co.za (Randburg) I have not been there, but I checked out their website and it might be ok – but don’t quote me on this one lol. ** Oh wait, I see that have iron men meetings which smacks of Promise Keepers/Mightmen Conference stuff which is not sound teaching at all and quite ‘transformation’ orientated – i.e., you can change and acquire kingdom/Christian values without being saved. Again, you can check out this church, but beware.

I am not baptist, or charismatic, or anything, I don’t give my salvation in Jesus Christ a label – the truth is scattered in all denominations and theologies (except for some obvious ones like RCC and 7th Day adventist, mormon etc, etc, etc). But I have to say the baptists are about the best you will find (in this day and age – they have not been infected and are trying their best to hold to the truth the best they can. However I have seen some baptist churches incorportaing all this emergent church/new age/contemplative/slain in the spirit stuff. (** See my note above on ‘ironman meeting at honeyridge church’ that I actually made after I wrote this part – sorry I am in a hurry and writing a bit ‘backward’ here)

No matter where you go you have to always TEST and WEIGH everything to scripture and let the Holy Spirit lead you into all truth. (i.e., born again)

  6. Andrew:

Your twist the scripture of Mattew 18 to protect people who preach a false gospel. This is typical intimidation tactics and something not uncommon in the word of faith/charismatic movement.

If the people running these churches are not ‘knowlegable’ enough to know they are following false teaching then they should not be leading teams in the first place. The word of God says each person is responsible for his own life and the choices he makes.

This blog is in true Christian love – love for all those who are caught up in this horrible deception and are going to lose their salvation if they don’t listen to God’s warnings (from his little watchmen).

Your definition of ‘love’ is fleshly, don’t hurt peoples feelings etc, etc, etc. God’s definition of love is when one repents of sin – something the church today avoids all together!

  7. Amen Deborah! LIke in proverbs that sounds something like this.., he who gives a rebuke has more love than the one who flatters..

On the above.. i have discovered the Jesus is the true vine and not the church.. so for now I follow God’s leading. I would rather love people, get busy loving instead of doing the church thing.. THe church is too scary for me as most of them don’t teach well. If you click on my name and then go to my blog roll there is a blog called “city business church’ they expose alot of churches.. one church in america are laying hands on a bull to call in finances.. I mean really.. it has gotten so bad that it is safer to just be a friend and love people outside the confines of a building.

I will not give up on gathering of the saints obviously.. i have some christian friends and faith does come by hearing the word of God.. so maybe once a month I’ll go.. but right now I am totally reliant on taking baby steps. Thanks for your input.. I agree that the baptists are more biblical.

  8. Getting there…definitely, my hubby and have not been to church in over a year. The last time we thought we found a nice place it turned out to be a huge disaster. I do want to check those churches out never the less, but I aint getting my hopes up. I know Moriel is pretty good (I read a lot of Jacob Prasch writings). Going to church is not important, in fact going is detrimental to ones spiritual health.

Thanks for the nudge towards the link for ‘city business church’ defnitely going to check that out. I used to have a blog called Discerning the World but alas I deleted it due to threats..apparently my Angus Buchan article was not well received by his adoring fans. Anyhow I am in the process of building a new site, bigger and better!

  9. Hi Deborah

Re: “Then you can maybe try Honeyridge Baptist Church http://www.honeyridge.co.za (Randburg) I have not been there, but I checked out their website and it might be ok – but don’t quote me on this one lol. ** Oh wait, I see that have iron men meetings which smacks of Promise Keepers/Mightmen Conference stuff which is not sound teaching at all and quite ‘transformation’ orientated – i.e., you can change and acquire kingdom/Christian values without being saved. Please tell me where you get your information about Iron Men? Seen as you are not a man, I doubt you have ever attended? But the comments you made are totally untrue and unfounded.

Re: “However I have seen some baptist churches incorportaing all this emergent church/new age/contemplative/slain in the spirit stuff. (** See my note above on ‘ironman meeting at honeyridge church’ that I actually made after I wrote this part – sorry I am in a hurry and writing a bit ‘backward’ here)” – That has never ever been taught at Honeyridge, neither at iron men nor from the Pulpit, on the contrary, Honeyridge is very against the emerging church movement.

  10. I have always seen the Baptist church as currently being under attack from emergent and charismatic theological views. At least that what it is like here in my city.
The treats are real, and people are getting cautious. There are key words that people should watch out for. Myself I know nothing about Iron Men but it sounds strange. I also trust Deborah with her opinion as I have read many of her posts on her blog and have to say that they are sound.
There are things that enter churches all the time like “The Shack” and “A Purpose Driven Life” that in lots of churches can be useful, but it could be devastating to one out of 20. I myself as someone who has been hurt by a church that has been accepted by the whole Orthodox community in my home town warn people to discern what is happing in your own church, whether it is Baptist, Catholic or Presbyterian. Also be diligent, but fair in you judgement of churches you plan to join.

  11. How about reaching the lost rather than bagging the church? I’ve never heard so many controlling people talking about how they’ve been controlled and hurt in my life. What about the lost? What about “vengence is mine says the Lord”? What about dealing with the plank in your eye before you deal with the speck in your brothers? It makes me sick to hear that people have become so bitter and twisted that they’d rather spend their time taking out other Christians than reaching those who are going to spend eternity in hell. Think about it

    1. Tom, I agree with your statement.

People we need to stop bashing the churches….instead start concentrating on your own spiritual journey, your own families, and friends…start reaching the lost and continue to love and encourage. LIfe is too short for pointing fingers all the time….you will miss out on opportunities.

The problem with the “church” is that is is run by people…and people are not perfect…we need to start cutting people some slack….we need to start forgiving…we need to start loving….we need to start being more like Christ.

Invite someone to church. Give someone a hug today….even a smile….lets start living a life of love so that people will see Christ in us.

      1. I agree with u entirely.Stop bashing the churches and concentrate on your own walk with The Lord.I agree that we must open our eyes to the teachings of the specific church, but mind what we do.Yours in the Lord

    2. Seriously??? The Christians that are deceived are they not lost are they not heading for hell fire as they follow the lie? Bitter and twisted knocking Christians?? Really!! How about loving and warning, how about these watchmen that are cast aside, sneered at, buffeted! How about rightly dividing the Word of God?

  12. I believe he is a recovered alcoholic and transferred the addiction to a “church addiction”
If you were part of NCMI I am really surprised to hear that you don’t know a lot about him. Most relating churches quote him in almost every sermon, prayer meeting etc!

    1. We knew about him, but he was rarely quoted. The same goes for Ray Oliver, who was even the lead elder before I get there, the past leaders were very seldom quoted, or explained

    2. I know Dudley personally and find him to be the most humble, gentle, Christ-like leader I have ever met. I have read the blogs above about NCMI and about Dudley and I feel so saddened to see so many in the body of Christ with such anger, bitterness etc who gossip and slander others who are doing their very best to walk out the call of God on their lives. I am not angry, but I do feel desperately sorry for those who condemn, criticize and make many false statements about Dudley and NCMI. I know that God is grieved by such hatred and division. May we all be forgiven for our sin.

  13. in the past Dudley was attacked and misquoted, had his words twisted and i believe even had audio tapes spliced to make him sound like he said something he didn’t.
He shuns publicity for this reason.
I heard this from people who were part of his church at the time, please take into account – that I guess this is *rumors* 🙂 i wasn’t there!
I have seen him preach many times, to be honest he is just your average older generation NCMI guy. He has strong (and stubborn) views, he has had some very brilliant ideas and some really bad ideas that i strongly disagree with.

  14. I came accros this blog the other day and to say the least, I am deeply saddened by it. This blog is encouraging hurting beleivers who were in relating churches of NCMI to gossip and slander. Not once did you encourage these beleivers to practice Matthew 18 to confront your brother (a leader is a brother/sister too) if he has done you wrong , just between the two of you and then after that the other steps.

This blog must be time consuming………so, you must have very little time to speak to others about Christ and being actively involved with your local church to take the Gospel to all nations. The Church of Christ is the vehicle to achieve this, it is not an end in itself. Your focuse should be the Gosple of Christ and allowing the Lord to use your gifting through the context of a local church to facilitate this.

Talking about hurts is helpful, but only in the context of an environment where Jesus is pointed to as the Healer. This blog do not do this. Instead, it hammers your point home how terrible NCMI is and how does this provide healing to these desperately seeking believers? You are pointing them to the flaws of an imperfect ‘vessel’ (NCMI) and not to Christ!

So, this blog is un-Godly, not Christlike, and slanderous. You are in serious error my friend. Paul told Timothy that in the end times people will gather around them teachers to tell them thing what their itching ears want to hear. You have quite a following here……..

You presuming that I did not follow Matt 18. Most people who are hurt by NCMI do confront their abusers in the church. Unfortunately, this does not always work. Sometimes, I am sure, it does resolve the issues. In my case, and the case of many, it only made matters worse.

Read Galatians 2:14 and tell me if Paul was acting out Matt 18. Tell me what you think?

Now read Matt 18:11 – What is you definition of the Church. Is it the building that you go to on Sundays? Or perhaps, is it the church of Christ? How would one communicate with the Church of Christ in this day? I use a blog, in the past letters were used.

You accusation is based on the Assumption that I did not practice what was preached in Matt 18, and that is an assumption you are free to make. The reality however is that I approached the lead elder of my church, I then approached more senior elders of the apostolic team, and ended my approaching with Tyrone Daniels himself. All were NOT interested in my grievance as in put them in sin. I never said I was without sin, or pretended to be better. I also took many peoples testimonies and invited people to join me in following the instructions of Matt 18. ALL WITHOUT ANY JOY!

I spend about an hour on the blog a month. I spend more time eating.

These are still on the first page 🙂 I agree with you 100% here. Perhaps you could help me in creating some literature that really drives that home. I am not the best writer and God NEVER gifted me with the ability to preach, but you CANT say I did not try.

The bible also says that there will be Wolves in Sheeps Clothing. Likening this blog to the prophetic seems a bit much, don’t you think?

p.s appologies for not answering this sooner (or approving you message) as I never recieved a email notification about it. Must have been a glitch and I only saw the pending message when I was approving some recent comments

  15. This Blog is called “Discover the Truth” – and I pray that for anyone who reads this blog will not assume it is the truth but will ask the Spirit who “searches all things, even the deep things of God” to reveal what truth lies beneath. Only God knows the deep hearts of man, what happens in churches- church leaders are human and can falter for sure. But I have to say I’ve sat under Dudley’s teaching and found him humble and wise and His teaching helped grow me closer to God. I’ve been part of NCMI for 20 years and found it to be a joy, and lead by people who loved God deeply, – they were open to comment and deep relationship. The church is not a perfect bride, and God knows your heart best – you may well be trying to protect others. May He be with you and heal any damage done by those in churches, it certainly can leave a deep wound!

  16. I have had the blessing to be a part of NCMI for many years (over 10) and I can say that there is no such thing as a perfect church because there are imperfect people. But I can say this for a fact if it was not for the teaching and the leadership that was under NCMI I would not be in the place I am today with my life, my family, my business and last and never least in my walk with My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (which I am thankful for). I have nothing negative to say about this site other than I believe it is a rather polarized look at one persons experience that tends to attract people who want to pose or speak about their negative feelings. It’s a sad thing that there is abuse in the church and from church leaders but I can say I never felt abused, taken advantage of or anything but loved by people in the NCMI church. As I don’t want to add the names that are in this site I will simply say that and close.

  17. The question of Dudley Daniel not being found any information on his is also completely unfounded. The man has written many books with his name penned on them which if not all but some have personal experiences written in them where he shares parts of his life.

  18. I first met Dudley in 1972/73 in Durban, before NCMi. Subsequently been ministered to over many years. What a man of God! I am disappointed that people can blog with venom without knowing the man. Look at the churches around he world, but more importantly the number of people who have met Jesus as a result of the influence of such a man and the other Apostles in NCMI. I remember at a men’s retreat in the 1980’s at Winkelspruit, I brought a word that I thought was for all, but Dudley gently said it was for me personally rather than the group. To this day, I can remember his encouragement to keep listening for God’s voice. That is what I regard as real spiritual leadership. I have not seen him for about 15 years, but know people who are close. His input into my life has stood he test of time and I am still following The Lord Jesus – what a Saviour. Mike Hewgill

    1. I gave a negative view and I know him. He became extremely wealthy in a short period of time. He left behind him a trail of hurt, sorrow, church splits and divisions everywhere he went. He comes from a time in south African culture where you will find arrogance, bully’s and chauvinism. He was an alcoholic and seems to show evidence of a narrow minded addictive personality.
He also can be a great fun guy and can be quietly spoken. Hes had some good thoughts, along with bad ones. He knows how to get people on side. He probably means well. His ideas are extreme. In the last 20 years he seems to have become more negative and judgemental.

Given his position he always preached too long, boring and overloading everyone and tormenting child care/ childrens church volunteers world wide.

As far as I can tell he has stubbornly refused to apologise or admit any wrong doing ever.

It’s wise to know these things before becoming involved, proceed with common sense. There is good and bad.

  19. Dudley Daniel and false prophet Mike Hanchett completely destroyed a once-thriving, but small church called Brooklake Community Church in Florham Park, New Jersey, USA in the mid-1990s. They pushed aside the senior pastor, appointed a young man to ‘lead’ (whom they could manipulate), and eventually got him to sell the building after the whole thing split apart (and they took a generous portion of the proceeds). Mike Hanchett LIED to the congregation about Smith Wigglesworth, saying he once went to a dance and made everyone “fall out” so that he could dance with the prettiest girl there. One big problem: Wigglesworth was married at a young age, and his wife was saved first. Hanchett also told a strange story about an elderly woman with a see-through negligee (why he had to include that detail, I don’t know) whom he ‘healed’ and had running about the room. These men are perverts. They demanded to know intimate sexual details about the pastors and elders relationships with their wives. THAT IS NO ONE ELSE’S BUSINESS. Dudley claimed to have done military service, and that while in the barracks he would read ‘lurid’ passages from the Bible (like portions about Er or Onan spilling seed on the ground, etc.) to titillate listeners, then revealing that it’s in the Bible. He also said that he had been accused of running a brothel in Thailand when ministering to Thai women. True or not, why would he bring it up in a New Jersey church? These men are sex-obsessed, or were in the mid-’90s. Mike Hanchett’s personal “prophecies” to various congregants never came to pass, and on the whole he was a very cold and aloof personality—certainly not the character of Jesus Christ. These men are wolves in sheep’s clothing. Steer clear of NCMI.

    1. Now that makes total sense why his own son cheated on his wife. The apple dosent fall far from the tree. Now his cheating son is partnering up with another cheater, pastor john bishop of Vancouver.
These two fleece people out of there money and then throw them aside when they have taken all they can.Bishop has been seen with his PA drinking and kissing in the hotel bar they both stayed at while in Australia If you see them coming hold you wallet and run as fast as you can.

  20. The real deal, this seems a pattern, splitting churches and selling buildings. Money disappearing. Something similar happened at LA, USA at Southlands? It originally was a big chuch they split it, ran it down and sold the building. Not sure if it was purposefully done or just bad management. Seems to happen over and over again though. It’s a pattern and it’s not a “biblical pattern ” :p

    1. I attended Christian chapel which became soiuthlands. I was in leadership and so know of their doctrines and hearts. In my opinion many of their doctrines are off. But their hearts are not. They love God and seek to do the bestthey can. I left spiritually woouunded, some which still have not healed. Did this happen out of greed, malice, or bad intent NO. NO. NO. Their heart is good, some doctrines wrong and critidism is generally NOT heeded if it disagrees with their established positions or theology. No matter what Scriptures you bring up. That’s stubburness and a certain blindness but not ill intent. Despite my wounds I can say I dearly love Chris weinan. And Dudley Daniels. They love God and want the best for the church….but what’s that saying about the road to hell paved with good intiions
